This particular rug follows a traditional design and is sized 6'x4'. It is closely embroidered chainstitch with a cream background. The rug has a 1.5" frame of mauve gold and blue flowers surrounding the main design. The latter is a central medallion 12" in diameter which is itself within a second medallion 28" in diameter. These are contained within a second frame and are embroidered with flowers of maroon, mauve, gold, brown and blue. It is a magnificent example of this traditional craft.
