This particular rug follows a traditional design and is sized 4'x2.5'. It is closely embroidered with art silk, using chainstitch, with a silver background. The rug has a 2" frame of mauve green and blue flowers on a cream background surrounding the main design. The latter is a central square with 11" sides which is itself within a second square with 14" sides. These are contained within a wide symmetrical area embroidered with flowers and foliage of green, gold, brown and blue. It is a magnificent example of this traditional craft and has an outstanding oppulence.
