This box has a carving of a branch of the Chinar tree, the national tree of Kashmir carved in raised relief in the centre of an oval medallion on the top of the lid. The four corners and surrounds of the lid have representations of foliage whilst the outer corners of the carcase have a similar carving.
The box is secured by a secret sliding panel at the bottom of the front. It is slid from left to right to open the box and reversed to secure it.
It is ideal for keeping items safe and concealed. The box measures 8" long by 5" wide. The depth of the inside compartment is 3" and there is a shallow tray about 1" deep for smaller items.
These boxes are lined with velvet of either purple, red, green or blue.
